Ben Phelps was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on September 9, 1992. He lived in Plymouth, WI most of his childhood and teenage years. From Kindergarten through 8th grade, he attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School (WELS) in Howards Grove, WI. He graduated from Plymouth Comprehensive High School in 2010. His college years were spent at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN where he studied to become a teacher. But after his first year, he made the decision to switch to the pastor track and has never regretted that choice. After his graduation in 2014, he went on to our Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He “summer vicared” in North Carolina and Manitowoc, WI and spent his “vicar year” at Resurrection in Verona, WI under Pastor Nathan Strutz. Ben loves all things history and enjoys traveling.
Pastor Phelps met his lovely wife, Molly (Graumann), at MLC. They married the summer before his vicar year. Molly was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin and moved to Fort Atkinson, WI during her grade-school years. She attended Lakeside Lutheran High School in Lake Mills, WI. From MLC, she earned her degree in elementary education. A gifted teacher, she taught at First German Lutheran School in Manitowoc for two years before getting married. She was a substitute teacher at St. Paul’s in Fort Atkinson during her husband’s vicar year, and last year she worked at Star of Bethlehem in New Berlin, WI. Molly loves dogs (don’t have one yet!), elephants, and the Beatles.
Last August, Ben and Molly were blessed with their first child, daughter Emma. She loves pickles, wild blackberries, and books.
The Phelps Family is looking forward to living in Kenai. Pastor is eager to begin full-time ministry at Grace and the whole clan is excited to get to know all the Grace members and the greater Kenai community.

By grace you have been saved, through faith--this is not from you, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast. ~ Ephesians 2: 8-9
